Dragnaroks are the dragon gods, and the absolute rulers of Aradel. Each Dragnarok would rule Aradel for 1000 years, when the reign ended a new leader would be chosen among the strongest and wisest dragons.
To become a Dragnarok, the chosen dragon is brought before Prius in a ceremony, where he removes their heart and drops it in a pit while reciting a spell. The heart then chooses the elemental power of the next Dragnarok and it is placed back into their deceased body. It is also possible for two Dragnaroks to have the same elemental power. This has only occurred two of the Dragnaroks, but one of them had a more purer form which possibly caused an increase in height for said Dragnarok (Sektus). It is unclear how Prius became a Dragnarok.
When a Dragnarok shapeshifts into human form and has offspring with a human, descendants of this union inherit their powers. Said descendants go through an awakening within their lifetimes and become a Mage, a Morgue, or a Draqen.
